Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry and Maharana Pratap Horticultural University Sign MoU

Durg:  A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today, February 23, 2026, between Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Durg and Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal (Haryana) to strengthen academic and research collaboration. The ceremony was held at Pt. Kishori Lal Shukla College of Horticulture and Forestry, Rajnandgaon.
The MoU was signed in the auspicious presence of Dr. S. K. Malhotra, Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal, and Prof. R. R. Saxena, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Durg. On behalf of the university, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Director of Research Services, and Dr. U. B. Deshmukh, Dean, signed the MoU as official witnesses.

The agreement aims to promote collaboration in the following areas:
Academic Strengthening: Joint academic programs, faculty exchange, student training, and collaborative curriculum development at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

This partnership is expected to serve as a strong platform for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and institutional resources, thereby opening new avenues for national-level collaboration in horticulture and forestry education and research.
During the visit, both Vice-Chancellors reviewed the academic and research activities of the college and interacted with students to understand their academic and innovation initiatives. Dr. M. S. Paikra (Director of Instruction), Dr. Rajeswari Sahu and Dr. S. S. Dhruw were also present on the occasion.
Dr. S. K. Malhotra carefully observed all activities and appreciated the efforts of the faculty members and students. He emphasized that such institutional collaborations will play a vital role in promoting quality education, impactful research, and the overall development of the farming community.
The MoU marks an important milestone toward long-term academic partnership and mutual growth between the two universities.
