“Important Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture & Forestry and Chhattisgarh State Wetland Authority”
Durg, May 19, 2026: Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture & Forestry and Chhattisgarh State Wetland Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen wetland conservation, academic collaboration and extension initiatives. The agreement was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravi Ratna Saxena and Member Secretary Mateshwaran V.
The partnership will support biodiversity conservation, water resource management, ecosystem assessment, field-based studies, awareness programs, and sustainable development activities across wetland regions of Chhattisgarh. It will also provide students and researchers with practical exposure in environmental studies and conservation practices.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ravi Ratna Saxena highlighted the role of wetlands in ecological balance, water security, biodiversity enrichment and climate resilience. Mateshwaran V. noted that the collaboration would help achieve long-term conservation goals through scientific expertise and institutional cooperation.
